Cookies are made from a flour-based dough that is sweet and sometimes it is made with different kinds of savory and sweet additions such as chocolate chips, nuts, fruits, and other flavors. Kids love to eat it in school or at home as their snacks. There are different kinds of cookies but cookies that are personalized are more extraordinary. In this article, we’ll show you different kinds of cookies that have different kinds of presentations that your kids will truly look forward to.
1. Chocolate chip cookies
Chocolate chip cookies are the common type of cookies that can be found in the market or in the grocery store. This is the type of cookies that you will first remember when you hear the word cookies. In just 25 minutes of preparation time, you’ll smell the aroma of freshly baked goodness.
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cup flour
- ÂĽ cup brown muscovado sugar
- ÂĽ cup granulated sugar
- 100g salted butter (melted)
- 1 or 2 eggs
- 200gchocolate chips
- 2 ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tbsp bicarbonate of soda
- ½ tbsp Salt to taste
Directions:
Step 1: The first step is to heat the oven for about 374°F. Prepare at least 2 baking trays and place a non-stick baking paper in each tray.
Step 2: Combine the salted butter and sugar in a bowl until you achieve a creamy mixture before beating the egg. Add the vanilla extract and blend all of it. Strain the dry ingredients such as flour, baking soda, and salt. If you can no longer any lumps, you may add the chocolate chips.
Step 3: Scoop your preferred portions of the butter mixture and place it into the baking tray, make sure that it has enough space to expand while it is cooking.
Step 4: Bake it for around 8-10 minutes or until the edge of the cookies looks well done. Take them out and wait for it to cool before serving.
2. Snickerdoodles
This is a cinnamon-flavored cookie that your kids will be curious about, especially if it is their first time tasting cinnamon delicacy. It may be difficult to do but it is just a simple mix and bake recipe. In just 20 minutes you can feed your family and friends with these flavorful cookies.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 3 tbsp regular white sugar
- ÂĽ tsp salt
- ÂĽ cup baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup salted and melted butter
- 2 ½ cups plain flour
- 1-2 eggs eggs
- 2 tbsp cream of tartar
Directions
Step 1: While you are preheating the oven for about 350°F. Beat the eggs, combine with the butter, sugar and vanilla extracts. Beat it until all the mixtures are incorporated. Strain the dry ingredients such as salt, baking soda, and flour.
Step 2: Mix the dry mixture from the batter mixture. Cover it properly and place it in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
Step 3: While waiting for the butter mixture to chill, mix the cinnamon powder with about 2 tbsp of sugar. Take out the chilled batter mixture and make small portions and then roll it into the sugar with cinnamon mixture, make sure that all parts of the dough are covered.
Step 4: Place it into the tray with a cookie sheet and bake it for around 10-15 minutes. It is best to serve it hot so once done serve it immediately.
3. Almond biscottis
This cookie recipe is a unique Italian recipe that is just as delicious as the other cookies but biscottis are nuttier. Just mix all the ingredients and bake it, in 35 minutes your kids will be able to taste this unique-tasting cookie.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup whole wheat flour
- ½ cup unbleached all-purpose flour
- Âľ cup chopped almonds
- ÂĽ cup of sugar
- ÂĽ tbsp salt
- ½ tbsp canola oil
- ½ tbsp almond extract
- ½ tbsp vanilla extract
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the baking tray with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 375°F. In a bowl, whisk the canola oil, sugar, and almond and vanilla extracts. Make sure that they are all mixed together.
Step 2: In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients such as salt, flour, and baking powder and stir in this mixture into the mixture of extracts earlier to make a smooth dough. To mix the dough well, you may use your hands.
Step 3: Make small logs that are about 3-inch wide at least Âľ-inch thick. Place the logs on the baking tray and bake it for around 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, cook the other side by flipping it for another 8 minutes. You can store it in an airtight container if you want to store it for up to two weeks.
4. Fudgy cookies
This recipe lets you make gluten-free, healthy cookies using only plant-based ingredients. If you are looking for a healthy and not boring recipe that your kids will enjoy, try this fudgy cookie that makes use of a fruit-based ingredient. It would only take you for about 25 minutes to prepare it.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cup mashed or pureed banana
- ÂĽ cup creamy peanut butter
- ½ cup of cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp salt
Directions:
Step 1: While preheating the oven for about 350°F, line up a parchment paper with a baking sheet in a baking tray. In a bowl, combine the peanut butter, cocoa powder, and the mashed bananas, blend it well until you achieve a smooth consistency.
Step 2: Make small portions of the dough and directly place it into the baking tray. Make sure to leave enough space in between cookies for it to cook evenly.
Step 3: You can bake it for around 15 minutes or it turns slightly brown. You may add the salt on top of it or you may just add the salt on the main battery.
5. Pumpkin oat cookies
This is another healthy recipe that is good for kids, especially those who are picky eaters. It is a combination of oats and pumpkin that has beneficial nutrients.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups oats
- 1 cup pureed organic pumpkin
- 3 packets stevia (optional)
- Choice of dried nuts, raisins, almonds or chocolate chips

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place a parchment paper into the tray. Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth dough.
Step 2: You may add your preferred additional ingredients into the dough and blend it to mix the ingredients evenly.
Step 3: Scoop your preferred portion into the baking pan and bake it for about 10 minutes. It can be stored for about a week in an airtight container.
